Most unionkit tools have a lightweight version that is free for use without an account. A few, such as the tools on the Outreach page (emails, petitions, surveys, rap sheets, and press releases), require an authenticated account. Any unionkit tool that requires saving or data persistence requires an authenticated account; free versions will not save, will not allow back-end tracking, and will not recall your work if you leave or refresh the page.

Unionkit uses role-based access so visitors, members, and system owners see appropriate tools. Your campaign data requires your personalized login credentials to access it.

Authenticated users are directed to a customized dashboard with outreach cards to quickly access saved outreach documents, embedded active comms plans (once created), and quick access to saved calendars and logos. Again, the ability to save and have access to data persistence requires an authenticated account.

There is no cost to use unionkit. Unionkit is committed to the idea that powerful organizing tools shouldn't be locked behind prohibitive paywalls. That said, to access some of the Outreach Tools features, members DO have to enter an email address and authorize permission. We've made the process simple! All you have to do is click "Set Up Send/Receive Email Address" on the Outreach Tools page and authorize access, and unionkit will send formatted emails that track analytics from your email address.
